Damn Aliens Again

SAN LUIS, Colo.— A creepy string of calf mutilations in southern Colorado has a rancher and sheriff's officials mystified.

Four calves were found dead in a pasture just north of the New Mexico state line in recent weeks. The dead calves had their skins peeled back and organs cleared from the rib cage. One calf had its tongue removed.

But rancher Manuel Sanchez has found no signs of human attackers, such as footprints or ATV tracks. And there are no signs of an animal attack by a coyote or mountain lion. Usually predators leave pools of blood or drag marks from carrying away the livestock.

Two officers from the Costilla County Sheriff's Office have investigated the mutilations but say they don't know what's killing the calves.

"There's nothing really to go by," said Sanchez, who's ranched for nearly 50 years. "I can't figure it out."

A spokesman for the sheriff's office told The Pueblo Chieftain that investigators doubt a person butchered the calves because there is no blood at the scene.

"I've butchered a cow before and I know what kind of a mess it leaves," Sgt. James Chavez said.

Some in the area believe the mutilations are the work of aliens. An area UFO chaser, Chuck Zukowski of Colorado Springs, has been to the Costilla County pasture to investigate.

He told the paper there have been other unexplained calf mutilations in the area, including three in March. One of the other calves, found dead on a ranch near Trinidad, had its ears removed, Zukowski said.

"We're trying as much as we can to find a pattern," said Zukowski, who runs a UFO Web site called ufonut.com.

Sanchez said he has sold off his 32 remaining calves out of fear more would be mutilated. He hasn't decided how he'll manage the remaining 40 animals in his herd.

"It's a big loss for a small rancher," he said.

================================================
Four years ago mid summer I was down here for the weekend. About 3 am I had to use the bathroom. As I was passing the windows I glanced down towards the lake.

There was what looked like a helicopter hovering over this small lake side village...just a few houses. Anyway the "helicopter" was hovering and spotlighting an area to east end of the lake. It hovered there for a few minutes then flew back over the lake and disappeared behind the mesa. Its spotlight was on the whole time and made absolutely no noise. I just assumed it was a drug sting or some sort of military training. I used the bathroom and went back to bed.

The next afternoon I was heading out and drove over through the little village on my way to the highway. Right past the town about 20 feet west of the road was a large white bull laying there on its side legs sticking straight out. It was not there the day before. I stopped and snapped a couple of pictures (lost) but didn't go over and investigate up close. The bull laid there until it finally rotted away.

I can't say that the hovering light dissected then dropped the bull but they did appear connected.

My only question is why would aliens selectively remove parts from cattle then simply drop the evidence back into the field.

This was a terrible problem that peaked back in the 70's with sporadic mutilation occurring through the years up to today. I only hope we are not returning to the mass harvests of forty years ago.

Oh and I really hope they don't have a taste for chicken.

Speaking of creapy things, what ever happened with your two missing neighbors?

Agent Big Bear had his two neighbors "dissapeared" into the FEMA camps.

They are still missing

While I have never seen a UFO, I think it's just plain arrogant to think they couldn't exist. The expanse of the universe is really beyond our feeble comprehension, and to think we're alone is ludicrous. I've no doubt we've been "visited"...

That whole area from Taos to up by where you are has a great reputation for strange things flying (and humming) in the night.

No telling what it is but good thing you keep that Mossberg nearby... although I'm not sure what that would do to the force field on an alien space ship. Probably just piss them off. :-)

Love that you are blogging more regularly again BTW.

Notice one constant in cattle mutilations. Injury to the neck. What gland is in the neck? The thyroid. What is the thyroid good for? Finding out radiation exposure levels. Where are these cattle mutilations occurring? Near nuclear test sites.

These aren't aliens, folks. Just standard gunvermin people making sure they're not destroying the environment too much.

Don't want to raise a national fuss and worry, by asking farmers for their permission to slaughter and hack open their very expensive cattle, now do they?

I also used to think it was radiation level testing but wouldn't it just be easier to stick a needle in the neck and take a biopsy then leave the cow intact looking like a natural death?

If you have silent helicopters you could do the testing without leaving any evidence.

Certain tests are better done in a proper lab, when one has particular and large samples.

I have enjoyed following the "Project" for some time now, but one question I have is what is the status of the two guys who went missing? Any word on what happened. Also, I would love to see more pictures of the 'ole homeplace as it is now. Keep up a great blog, thanks again.
