Resident Evil Extinction, a great survival movie, is set in the distant future in a desert world. Most life has been killed off by a virus, the survivors travel from city to city in protection convoys looking for other living creatures. The movie addresses scavenging for food, supplies, gas as well as global climate change and government surveillance.

The plague has traveled around the world infecting most of the world's population, turning everyone into the walking undead. The deadly virus also has destroyed the world as we knew it, rendering the planet a desert. Alice (Milla Jovovich) has been forced to roam the Earth alone attempting to stay off Umbrella's radar. Alice joins a convoy led by Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) and former U.B.C.S. agent Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr) along with L.J. (Mike Epps) and other survivors who have not been infected, travel from small town to small town in search of other survivors and supplies, staying away from any large cities - areas that may potentially be infested. Their goal is to find a place that has not been infected by the virus. Unfortunately for the convoy, Dr. Isaacs finds Alice and tries to capture her in Las Vegas, after Alice persuades the convoy to journey to Alaska where Alice believes there lives an uninfected community.Here are a couple of my favorite quotes from the move.

absolutely agree with you, xlnt trilogy. but now you've helped me to understand why i like them so much. i've always thought of these as 'zombie' movies but you're exactly right; they're survival movies!
Subconsciously we all fear the mongrel hordes racing across the open desert to destroy our way of life, or take our last can of beans. This is a genetic gift to us from Genghis Khan. This is why we fear the penniless communist, he is here to destroy our way of life.
For the modern survivalist the zombies are the happy clueless masses who are awoken by some catastrophe only to wander the streets breaking into homes, killing and consuming the hard earned stores put back by the prepared. When they move on the survivalist must go with them or die. He has caught the "virus". This is why zombie movies do so well.
